New Business Package
(Getting Started with HR)
$1,790 + GST
If you are a new business, or have decided to scale and have no prior HR experience this is the right fit for you. This package covers the essentials you need to hire right, pay correctly and start growing your team.
The package includes 3 ‘options’, and we recommend selecting options that are most suited to the particular needs of your business.
To begin:
HR Discovery meeting – establish requirements and recommendations can be provided on which options are best suited to get started with.
Options:
Identification of relevant award/s (or other employment terms and conditions) and identification of key conditions/requirements relevant to business operations. Identification of correct classification (base pay rate) for 2 roles. Written advice (report) on the correct application of key Award conditions.
Development of standard/template for employment contract - Award employee (casual employment).
Development of standard/template for employment contract - Award employee (full-time or part-time).
Development of standard/template employment contract - Non-Award employee.
Onboarding process for new employees documented.
WHS Basics: Written advice and processes on base legal requirements.
Recruitment Basics: preparation of one job ad for one role; placement of ad on on-line job site. Creation of account for business on one job-site (if required). Note: Cost of ad placement borne by business; ad placed on business job site account.
Selection Basics: development of interview question set for one role (or generic for wider business); preparation of question set for referee checks.
Leave policy: preparation of leave policy based on requirements of business. Focus is on the common leave provisions (annual leave and personal leave).
Mobile phone policy: detailing requirements of business in terms of use of mobile phone and other digital devices during work time and at workplace.
Social media policy: detailing requirements of business in terms of use of mobile phone and other digital devices during work time and at the workplace.
TOIL (Time off in lieu of overtime) policy: Focus is on consideration of levelling resources and managing overtime costs.
Drug and alcohol policy: detailing requirements of business in terms dealing with issues around presenting to work under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
Working from home policy: detailing requirements of business for employees working from home. Home office risk assessment process.
Code of conduct: detailing behavioural expectations of employees within the business.
Anti-discrimination policy, incorporating requirements of sex discrimination positive duty obligations.
Note: All policy and process development covers preparation of one (1) draft (for review/comment by business) and a final document.
Basic Package (Compliance Review)
$1,370 + GST
This package is a compliance review for your business ensuring your employment contracts are in accordance with employment laws, focussing on Award compliance.
This package includes:
General compliance check (focus on awareness of legal requirements and confirmation of processes in place). This is really about establishing what’s in place in terms of processes, controls, records.
Review of employment contracts (X 3); different types of contracts, eg Award employee (casual employment); Award employee (full-time or part-time); Non-award employees.
Check of Award coverage and correct classification and pay rates (sample of 3 employees).
Check of Award application rostering, hours of work, penalty rates (sample of 3 employees X 1 Award).
Check of employment documentation, eg forms filled out commencement of employment, payslips, documented processes.
Report submitted with recommendations.
HR Health Check for Small Business
$650 + GST
This package is designed for existing businesses, and focuses on identifying any areas that need attention. It encompasses a HR Discovery meeting where we review current HR practices that are in place and explore areas that require attention.
This package includes:
Questionnaire to gather base information on the business and on HR practices.
HR Discovery meeting – establish requirements.
Summary; recommendation of areas for attention/ improvement.
Employment Contracts
$550 + GST
This package includes a 1-on-1 discussion to establish needs unique to the role and the business, and the preparation of a tailored employment contract. This could be for an Award-based role (casual, part-time, or full-time) or a non-Award role.
Position Description
$550 + GST
A position description is a practical tool to help employees (and others in the business) understand the responsibilities of the position, and is commonly used in performance management and in recruiting.
This package includes meeting/s and emails to scope the role, plus the creation of one tailored position description. Options: Strengthen the PD for performance management. Ideally, position descriptions include expected performance outcomes such as KPIs and expected results.
Growing Business Package(15+ employees)
$1,250 + GST additional compliance requirements
Once a business reaches the level of having 15 employees, there are some more stringent compliance requirements apply. The main changes relate to the obligations to review work patterns of casual employees to identify employees.
However, there are also some more stringent requirements around timeframes regarding unfair dismissal, and also obligations for redundancy payments. It’s important that business owners are aware that they now have additional obligations and that they have processes in place to support these.
This package includes:
Meeting/discussion – explanation of main issues to be aware of once a business has 15 employees.
Casual conversion - Written explanation of the requirements. Preparation of 2 standard letters (tailored to particular business): » 1 offer of conversion » 1 explanation of not converting (appropriate to the business circumstances)
Process/procedure on reviewing and issuing letters.
Guidance for implementing the first round of reviews and issuing of letters. Note: this is based on the review of work patterns of up to 3 employees.
Recommendations in relation to managing risks of unfair dismissals.
Note: All policy and process development covers preparation of one (1) draft (for review/comment by business) plus the final document/s.
Recruitment and Selection Basics
$1,250 + GST
This gets you started on recruitment and selection by providing base processes and guidance. The templates you receive can be modified to suit your needs with other roles as required.
This package includes:
HR Discovery meeting to establish requirements.
Preparation of one job ad for one role; placement of ad on on-line job site. Creation of account for business on one job-site (if required).
Note: Cost of ad placement borne by business; ad placed on business job site account.
Development of interview question-set for one role (or generic for wider business); preparation of question set for referee checks.
Optional: HR advice/support through any aspect of the process, including involvement in shortlisting, interviews, undertaking reference checks, coaching supervisors/ managers involved in the process.
Managing Underperformance
$700 + GST
Monitoring and managing employee work performance and behaviours is important in all businesses. Issues relating to poor work performance or concerns around behaviours should be addressed promptly and appropriately.
This package is to support businesses wishing to establish practical processes to assist with managing performance, and/or needing support to manage an existing poor performance matter.
This package includes:
HR Discovery meeting – establish what is in place and determine requirements.
Summary recommendations of areas for attention/ improvement.
Depending on the particular needs of your business, we will recommend selecting 1 of the following options:
Options:
Provide tailored Performance appraisal process (written procedure and form) to guide formal performance reviews.
Review of any existing process/documentation and modify/update.
Prepare policy/procedure document (single policy) to address a specific issue of poor performance or behaviour. This can be appropriate where there are common problematic behaviours or actions throughout the business.
3 hours of HR support, eg specialised support in relation to managing an individual employee or situation.
Performance Review Process
$700 + GST
Monitoring and managing employee work performance and behaviours is important in all businesses. Having a formal and practical process in place enables you to recognise and reward good performance as well as get ahead of any underperformance issues before they become problematic.
This package includes:
Meeting/discussion to establish what is in place and determine requirements.
Review of any existing process/documentation.
Tailored performance appraisal process (written procedure and form) to guide formal performance reviews.
Separate process for reviews during the probation period.
HR Policies
$550 + GST (per policy)
It’s useful for businesses to have clear policies in place. These provide guidance to employees and managers on how particular situations need to be managed. Having clear policies provides predictability and contributes to consistency in the management of people.
This package includes the preparation of policy documents tailored to the individual business needs. Below are standard policies that are appropriate for many small businesses.
This package includes:
Leave policy: preparation of leave policy based on requirements of business. Focus is on the common leave provisions (annual leave and personal leave).
Mobile phone policy: detailing requirements of business in terms of use of mobile phone and other digital devices during work time and at workplace.
Social media policy: detailing requirements around using social media and social platforms for communication, including the sharing of information relating to the business.

Leadership Coaching
$550 + GST
As small businesses grow, it is not unusual for business owners to experience unexpected issues relating to managing people. This package provides access to 1-on-1 support and advice on any aspect of leadership and the management of people. This support might be required by the business owner directly or a new supervisor or manager within the business.
This package includes:
3 hours of individualised advice (via phone/zoom, brief written follow-ups) which can be used over a 3-month period.
Flexible Package Ad hoc Advice and Support
$550 + GST
This package provides support in any aspect of HR management for a small business. This would suit situations where specific issues arise and you need HR support to address it.
